About the Washakie County Search & Rescue Squad

The Washakie County Search and Rescue Squad is a non-profit volunteer organization located in Worland, Wyoming. We are made up of no more than 30 members from the Washakie County area and are deputized through the Washakie County Sheriff’s Office. Although our primary function is Search and Rescue, we are also called to duty for fugitive recovery, special operations, security, crowd control, and traffic control.

We receive our funding in the form of donations from the local businesses and general public, as well as limited funding from the County. If it were not for the support of our community, we may not exist, nor be able to provide our services in the manner that we do.
